A brilliant beginning to the final three seasons of an epic tale
This is a five disc set comprising all fourteen episodes and several bonus features, including deleted scenes, audio commentaries, and behind the scene looks at how the episodes are made.

There are three seasons remaining, including this one. The focus of season four is how the Oceanic Six get off the island, highlighted by the division of the castaways into two groups led by Locke and Jack. Jack believes the arrival of the freighter is the chance to leave the island, while Locke believes they are a threat to the island itself.

Having fourteen episodes instead of the 23 of the previous season means that the pace is faster, with less of the filler, side tracks, and extraneous characters that sometimes slowed down the show in the past.

The episodes are:

1: The Beginning of the End
2: Confirmed Dead
3: The Economist
4: Eggtown
5: The Constant
6: The Other Woman
7: Ji Yeon
8: Meet Kevin Johnson
9: The Shape of Things to Come
10: Something Nice Back Home
11: Cabin Fever
12: There's No Place Like Home: Part 1
13: There's No Place Like Home: Parts 2 and 3 (two hour finale)

Season four of LOST is scheduled to be released on December 9th, 2008.

Excellent Season
Nope, this DVD hasn't been released yet so like Sean Logue I am reviewing the season, not the necessarily the DVD.

This seasons twists and turns have renewed my interest and respect for Lost. There were no planned fillers, and even with reduced episode count and the writer's strike it was a solid season. The planned extras look good too. Now all Logue really did was comment on the season and the list the episodes, but I've going one step further; I'm going to list extras. So I guess I'm joining Logue in the frying pan. Hey, if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.

What is planned is below, it is subject to change since it wasn't released yet.

Features:

Lost Bloopers
Oceanic Airlines Safety Guide
The Lost Flashbacks
Audio Commentaries
Deleted Scenes

I got this from a website that tracks TV show releases on DVD[...]. They usually have a link to purchase/pre-order from amazon.com there as well.

no one go by what Sean P. Logue has said
for one this DVD set is not out because season 4 has still not ended it ends on the 29th of May and no one knows how it will end or what next season will be about. thing no. 2 he does not know what he is talking about, there are not going to be 3 more seasons after this the next is the last and every fan of lost knows that, There was talk for a short bit of there being 2 more seasons comprised of 12 - 14 episodes each but they decided to combined them into one season and end it next year. do some research Sean before you post none sense about something you know nothing about.

How can you review before you view?
How can a customer have *reviewed* this item when it won't even be available until 12/2008? Yes, I will be buying this when it becomes available, but that is because I love the TV show. I have no idea what the discs will look like, play like, or even extras to name a few. Besides, suppose these discs aren't ready for sale on time? Suppose they aren't released at all? Unlikely, sure (and I don't want that), BUT - you can't review something you don't have.
